Bandana Tewari as special adviser to the Summit

By Global Fashion Agenda

Global Fashion Agenda is pleased to welcome Bandana Tewari, lifestyle journalist, sustainable activist and columnist at The Business of Fashion, as special adviser to Copenhagen Fashion Summit.

As Vogue India’s Editor-at-Large for 13 years, Tewari sat front row to a rapidly evolving industry and reported extensively about the global fashion industry. Coupled with her unrestrained and independent voice, understanding of socio-political dynamics of fashion and trademark forward-thinking, she is considered one of India’s foremost authorities on fashion.

Member of the BoF500 (2016-2017) and contributor for The Business of Fashion, she has written extensively on a variety of topics from indigenous ‘made-by-hand’ economies of India and Indonesia, to transgender and LGBTQ representation in global fashion, informing and educating consumers and global luxury brands about each other’s heritage and culture.

Welcoming Tewari as adviser for the Summit is aligned with our increased focus on the Asian market, where we hope to become more present and hope to have more representatives from at the Summit and on stage.

“For the last three years since I have attended Copenhagen Fashion Summit, I can truly say, it has been one of my biggest teachers in the fashion industry. It gave me a right-side view of the paradigm shifts erupting in this industry and reinforced my belief to be an advocate of conscious, not conspicuous consumption. Therefore, needless to say, I am delighted and honoured to be a special adviser to the Summit,” says Tewari.

Tewari will join the advisory team of industry thought leaders, including Amber Valletta, Julie Gilhart, Marco Lucietti, Shaway Yeh among others. Read more about Tewari and the other advisers.
